Registration has closed for OverNighters, but registration for Day-trippers is still open.

AT CAMP HANOVER

An opportunity for fellowship, fun and spiritual growth for 

2 days together as a Church

Saturday, October 15


10:30 am       Buses for “Over Nighters”1 and “Day Trippers”2 leave GBC parking lot

12:00 pm      Sign in begins on-site

 1:00 pm        Pot-luck luncheon. Everyone is asked to bring their favorite dish to share. Drinks provided. 

2:00 pm         Family/Group Activities Begin (Includes volleyball, tetherball, board games, etc 

5:00 pm         “Oldyweds Game”  Senior Ministerial Staff and their spouses participate in a friendly competition - “How well do you know your spouse”

6:00 pm         Church cookout with hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixin’s 

6:45 pm         S’mores around the campfire

7:30 pm         Worship

8:15 pm         Buses for “Day Trippers” leave for GBC

 

Sunday, October 16

 

    For “Over Nighters”

 8:00 am        Breakfast in Camp Hanover Dining Hall

 9:00 am        Bible Scavenger Hunt 

   

For “Day Trippers”

 9:30 am        Buses leave GBC parking lot

 

        For Everyone

11:00 am       Combined Worship Service

 12:00 pm     Depart Camp Hanover for Lunch Buddies Option and buses return to GBC (See Lunch Buddies Option

explanation below.)

 

1 “Over Nighters” are individuals and families choosing to spend the night at Camp Hanover

2 “Day Trippers” are individuals and families choosing NOT to spend the night but participate in each day’s activities


Lunch Buddies Option - Families have the option to be paired with another family to have lunch on Sunday after Worship on the way back home. Indicate interest on the google form.

Camp Hanover is a “Nut Free Zone” 

Please keep this in mind when planning potluck dishes and any snacks you will bring.

 

ACCOMMODATIONS FOR “Over Nighters”

 

Members and families spending the night may bring their own tent or RV or sleep in the climate-controlled community bunk houses. Please note that there are no hookups for electricity, water, etc. for RVs. 

Lodging in the bunk houses will be shared accommodations. Each bunk house will hold 8 individuals. If your family would like to “bunk” with another family to make a group of 8, please indicate that in the “Additional Information” section of the google form or call the church office - 804-360-2801. You will need to bring your own linens/sleeping bag and towels. There are central bath facilities.


TRANSPORTATION

 

Whether you are “Over Nighters” or “Day Trippers”, you have two options.

 

1.    You may drive your own vehicle to Camp Hanover. Directions are provided below. “Day Trippers” would be required to drive to Camp Hanover each day.

2.    You may ride in a Church bus, provided space is available. “Over Nighters” may ride the bus out on Saturday morning and return on the bus Sunday after Worship. If riding a bus, you will need to bring your bedding, towels, etc. with you on the bus. “Day Trippers” may use the bus each day according to the schedule posted previously.

3. If transportation by church bus is needed, please indicate on the google form. Transportation will be provided on a first come, first served basis.

*If these costs would prevent you from participating, please contact Patricia Hutcherson at patricia@gayton.church. Funds are available to help offset the cost. All inquiries will be strictly confidential.

 

ALL PAYMENTS NEED TO BE PAID AT REGISTRATION OR DROPPED IN THE OFFERING BOX BY THE SUNDAY FOLLOWING REGISTRATION.

 

REGISTRATION WILL BE AVAILABLE ONLINE BEGINNING AUGUST 18.

Exit 37A US-360 East toward Tappahannock DRIVE 7.5 miles

Turn Right onto Old Church Rd DRIVE 1.4 miles

Turn Right onto Mcclellan Rd. DRIVE 3.1 miles

Turn LEFT onto Parsleys Mill Rd. DRIVE approximately 1 mile into Camp Hanover entrance
