Position Description
Title: Financial Administrator
Classification: Non - Exempt, Part-Time Hourly (20-25 hours per week)
Location: In-office with limited remote work option.
Purpose: Manage the financial records of the church, assist with budgeting and HR onboarding (benefits, insurance, and employee payroll records). Exercise judgment in the analysis of financial data and preparation of statements and reports. Reports to Senior Pastor.
Responsibilities:
● Perform monthly/annual financial close process and reporting.
● Prepare weekly invoices for payment for church accounts.
● Enter and record contributions.
● Make Journal entries.
● Process employee payroll and tax withholding on ADP platform.
● Reconcile accounting and bank statements, research, and record corrections.
● Manage all financial records and prepare all tax related reporting.
● Prepare for annual audit and assist auditor.
● Prepare and deliver contribution statements annually.
● Provide financial activity reports as requested by Stewardship Task Group (STG) and staff.
● Assist STG in organizing and assisting staff through budgeting process.
● Manage online contributions from online service provider.
● Administer employee benefit payments (403B retirement, health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance).
● Manage stock and grant donations, communicate with donors, and record transactions.
● Oversee maintenance of stored files and digital records.
● Set up vendors and obtain 1099s as needed.
● Manage and pay disbursement/ reimbursement requests and credit card statements.
● Participate in STG meetings and occasional evening meetings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
● Associate’s degree required. Accounting major preferred.
● Five years related experience (non-profit experience preferred).
● ADP experience a plus.
● Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and listening.
● Project management skills.
● Timeliness, accuracy, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and strong documentation skills.
● Strong organizational skills (planning, time management, priority management).
● Initiative and ability to work independently.
● Positive and servant-minded.
● Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Drive.
● Ability to acquire overall proficiency in accounting platforms used for accounting and financial reporting (ACS, Tithely).
● Discretion and good judgment.
