As we begin a new year, we’re excited to introduce The Vine, our new weekly newsletter replacing The Glance. Rooted in Jesus’ words, “I am the vine; you are the branches… those who abide in me bear much fruit” (John 15:5), The Vine is designed to help our church stay connected, grow deeper, and bear fruit together. This new format is more reader-friendly and puts everything in one place—featuring quick links to registrations, emails, and even songs for Sunday worship—making it easier than ever to stay informed and engaged. You’ll also find dedicated pages highlighting Gayton’s ministries, including Kids (Little Branches), Youth (Growing Branches), Young Adult and Adult Discipleship (Fruitful Branches), so everyone can find where they are growing and serving.

This Sunday, January 4, we invite you to join us for 10:00 AM worship, led by Rev. Jennifer Mullins, Gayton’s Youth, Young Adult, and Adult Discipleship Pastor. Her message, “What Next?: Dedication After Declaration” (Mark 8:27–33), will challenge us to consider how we live out our faith after proclaiming who Christ is. At 11:00 AM, all adult Bible Study classes will gather together in the Worship Center for a combined class led by Dr. Robert Kruschwitz, professor at Baylor University and Senior Scholar at the Institute for Faith and Learning. The Road to Jerusalem: Moving Toward Lent invites us to listen closely to the Gospel of Mark, with insights from Matthew and Luke, as we prepare our hearts for the Lenten journey centered on Jesus. Kids Ministry meets at both 10:00 and 11:00 AM and will celebrate with PJs, Pancakes, and Praise. Youth Bible Study (which includes brunch) will also meet at 11:00 AM. And, don't forget that Youth Life Nights resume at 6:00 PM! We look forward to engaging in this journey together as we remain connected to the Vine and bear fruit in the year ahead.
