About Gayton Young Adults (College & Beyond)

Gayton Young Adult Ministry (College & Beyond) is a ministry of Gayton Baptist Church for all young adults— ages 18-35 and it exists to reach and lead young adults to experience life in Jesus Christ through:

Discipleship!

Young adults can grow in Christian faith through opportunities of worship, prayer, Bible study, sharing, service and connecting in….

Community!

Young adults can find authentic connections, friendship, mentorship, fun and support- in an environment that is warm, safe, and welcoming, which then encourages all to put their faith to…

Action!

Young adults are encouraged to discover their gifts and serve through leadership, volunteerism, outreach, mission work and to live out their Christian lives day to day!

This is a ministry for college and grad students (College) and young career professionals, singles or marrieds (Beyond) - ALL young adults, are welcome!

Weekly Young Adult Events

Sundays:

  • 10:00 am: Worship (for whole church)
  • 11:00 am: Bible Study Hour
    • College Brunch & Bible Study - Pumphouse Cafe & Fireplace Lounge: This class shares light brunch refreshments in the cafe before gathering for Bible study and prayer in the fireplace lounge.
    • Beyond - Rm. 223: Together in a conversational style environment, and using Bible study guides, this group studies different books of the Bible or topical studies in 6-10-week intervals. They study and pray together each Sunday morning and are invited to also participate in our Young Adult Life evenings for worship, community, and scriptural encouragement.

Wednesdays:

  • 7:00-8:00 PM: College and Beyond Young Adult AFTERGLOW (starting Sept. 16 following 5:16 Felliowship) - for community and worship. Young Adults are encouraged to come to the 516 meal and discipleship classes - then stay for community time in fun and worship OR you can just come on and join us at 7:00pm.
Young Adults Events Coming Up!

Wednesday, September 9 | 5:16 Fellowship Kickoff & Young Adult Afterglow Fellowship

5:16 PM - 7:00 PM: Join us this fall for 5:16 Fellowship, Wednesdays, September 9–October 28 from 5:16–7:00 PM, for an evening of food, fellowship, and spiritual growth for all ages! We’ll kick off September 9 with a church-provided pizza dinner, followed by weekly fellowship meals beginning September 16.

We still need groups to provide dinner for several Wednesday evenings! Sunday School classes, small groups, families, couples, and other ministries are invited to gather a team of three or more people and provide one weekly meal for at least 50 people. We are not accepting individual meal sign-ups. Click here to sign up to provide a meal!

After dinner, children, youth, and adults will gather for Bible studies and small groups. Adult studies will include groups focused on Moms, Men, Prayer, the Gospel of John, Nehemiah, and Mental Health. Youth are welcome to come for dinner and plug into one of the available groups—age doesn’t matter!

7:00-8:00 pm: College and Beyond Young Adult AFTERGLOW (formerly Lifenights) for community and worship. Young Adults are encouraged to come to the 516 meal and discipleship classes - then stay for community time in fun and worship OR you can just come on and join us at 7:00pm.

  • November 22: 5th Annual Friendsgiving - for both youth and young adults 
  • December: Young Adult Christmas Gathering TBD/ Church Music Program
  • January 29-31: DNOW 2027 (in-house retreat for youth!)/ Youth Sunday!
  • February: Super Bowl lunch
  • March: College and Beyond Young Adult Spring Retreat
  • Spring: Easter events & services/ Creative Worship Night - “Say So”
