When did you first come to Gayton and/or when did you join the staff?

May 2022.

Where were you before coming to Gayton? 

With a Bachelors in both Religion and Church Ministries from Averett University and a Masters in Christian Education from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and ordained by Blacksburg Baptist and the Highland Baptist Association, I have served Christ for over 35 years on church staffs, in collegiate ministry, for associations, as a conf speaker and for three state Baptist conventions. Prior to coming to Gayton, I served for five years as Associate Pastor at New Highland Baptist Church and before then, served on the staff of the Baptist General Association of Virginia for nine years. Serving Christ in ministry has been my sole life trajectory since I was called as a teenager.

Tell us a little about your family and/or pets.

I am married to Rusty and a Mom to 3: a son and 2 daughters,; I am also a Mom-in-law to 2, and Gram to my sweet granddaughter. Plus, the spoiler of 4 kitties.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at Gayton?

Being with family and friends, enjoying nature, music, books, theater, movies, puzzles, and travel.

What is one of your favorite things? 

Lord of the Rings, Austen novels, Swimming, Coloring, playing cards, and cooking… esp making/enjoying my 3x3 Chili or Bacon Spaghetti.
