OPEN POSITIONS
The Discernment Task Group (DTG) is currently working to fill volunteer positions in the following areas:
Church Councils: Worship Council, Discipleship Council, Missions Council
If you would like to volunteer for a position at Gayton and feel led to serve in any of the areas noted, please contact the church office at 804.360.2801 or email Patricia@gayton.church. Please respond no later than November 26, 2023.
Position Descriptions:
Worship Council: Ensure that the church provides an authentic and relevant worship environment for guests and members. Support the ongoing process of developing and implementing the necessary components of worship services. Provide guidance for the groups that lead and facilitate worship.
Discipleship Council: Ensure that the church creates an environment that nurtures spiritual formation through discipleship communities. Facilitate the training and nurturing of discipleship leaders, provide communities where individuals can grow in their relationship with God, and create pathways into those discipleship communities.
Missions Council: Ensure that the Gospel is demonstrated by sharing a good word and doing a good deed with those who do not yet have a personal relationship with Christ. The Mission/Evangelism Council shall develop strategies that reach locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. The Council shall provide ongoing mission education and make recommendations to the SLC regarding mission funding.
